DelMonaco Winery & Vineyards Celebrates First Harvest Festival

Grape Stomping!  Music!  Food!  Games!  Family Fun!  Support for Breast Cancer Awareness!  All these and more were available at DelMonaco Winery & Vineyards First Harvest Festival held on Sunday October 11th.

As festival lovers crossed the railroad tracks near 600 Lance Drive Baxter, TN; they were greeted by volunteers from the Upper Cumberland Susan G. Komen for the Cure Organization.  Here donations versus an entry fee were accepted from the folks ready to help this organization before taking part in the festivities at the winery.  Tickets to participate in the lawn activities were given for donations and/or purchases from the winery.  The 2010 Harvest Festival will take place on October 30th.  More fun, food and games will be available for all to enjoy!

The weather was great for participants in the lawn activities.  With the theme of "I Came! I Stomped! I Concord!", what better activity than actually stomping grapes could be enjoyed!  Participants were able to make the 'MUST' (separation of the grape stem from the juice) with their bare feet in the oak barrels.  Many then had their footprints stained on their festival T-shirts.

Folks also enjoyed the Scavenger Hunt that led them through the vineyards, the other lawn activities and the winery.  Once the Pink Hat Lady was found, they claimed their reward.  Many then redeemed the rewards in the gift shop.

Adults as well as children enjoyed the other lawn activities too!  Very professional looking face paint was seen throughout the day.  The Sack Race had many hopping down the lawn wearing great big grins.  But the Ring Toss proved to be the favorite as many more rewards were garnered during this activity.

All participants took time to enjoy the music provided by The Eclecticville Orchestra; great food provided by Meg Heinreich; a relaxing time in the movie room; and supporting a great charity -- The Upper Cumberland Susan G. Komen for the Cure Organization.

DelMonaco Winery & Vineyards owners, Barbara & David DelMonaco, want to express their deep appreciation to all who came to participate in the festival.  They invite everyone to come on out for the next one too!  Save Saturday, October 30, 2010 on your calendar because that's when the next Harvest Festival is planned.  Won't you please join us?
